If you are following this blog, you must have noticed that I’ve been very quiet this year. Now is the time to reveal why. I was writing this book that is almost ready now. The scheduled availability is March 2015.
In this book, we tried to bridge the gap between understanding of the business issues at hand, and the technical ability to build analytical solutions in QlikView.
In the “business” chapters of the book, we describe the business cases, the requirements and the commonly used metrics for each one of the three business scenarios – Sales Analysis, Profitability Analysis, and Inventory Analysis.
Then, in the “visualization” chapters, we teach the specific visualization techniques, from the most basic to the most complex, that can be used for each one of the three applications.
After that, we describe the Data Modeling approaches that can be used to build efficient data models that are required in each case, and the Scripting techniques that we use to build these data models.
While the page count of the book is limited, we tried to go as deep as possible on each subject that we cover. You will find examples of the most advanced scripting techniques and the most sophisticated examples of Set Analysis and Advanced Aggregation.
A separate section of the book is devoted to Qlik Sense. While this tool is fairly new and our experience with it is limited, we wanted to give you a sense (no pun intended) of the new self-service platform and to walk you through a full-size, end-to-end, hands-on development of a Qlik Sense application. We even included exercises that cover geo-mapping and how to use a simple extension in Qlik Sense.
The book is currently available for pre-ordering at Wiley.com, as well as at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, and so on. While this is quite early, pre-ordering the book now allows you to buy the book with a nice discount. Amazon is even running a Holiday special with the promo code HOLIDAY30 that is available through November 30th.
We hope that you enjoy the book and appreciate the depth of the covered material.
Yours truly,
Oleg Troyansky

I am excited to see what you come out with but I have a question, are you going to release a Kindle version also? if so, when will it be ready for?
Cheers,
Ryuma
